Curly Hair Care Consult - A Need or Not?

Why Do You Need A Curl Routine Consult?

Hello fellow curlies! Did you finally decide to accept your gorgeous curls for what they are and get rid of those heat tongs? Did you get tired of hearing the parlour/salon person constantly asking you to consider smoothening? And now, are you wondering how to go about your curly hair routine and where to start?

We’ve got you covered!

This blog is to help you get some perspective on what you are missing out on and the benefits of getting outside/expert help to figure out your curly hair routine.

Here’s our reasoning and logic as to why everyone, even curly gurus who have been on the journey for a while, can and should get a consultati:

1. Save Yourself the Stress and Confusion

With the Curly hair market developing and new bloggers and brands popping up ever so often, there is an overload of incoherent information online. One would get overwhelmed and assume it's very complicated or time consuming and get discouraged.

2. Save Money and Time

With every brand advertising their products saying “For all curl types”, we find ourselves picking up whatever products (often full ranges) of whatever is most attractively presented to us. Let’s face it, this trial and error with products delays your progress and may even end up doing more bad than good.

3. You Are Unique and So Are Your Requirements

No two human conditions are ever the same. There are too many variables that would dictate how one would care for their hair and what they would use. Hair type, scalp type, sensitivities/allergies, lifestyle, medication/hormonal conditions, health conditions and so many more have to be factored in. Looking at a generic video or blog and expecting it to fit your unique requirements is too much of a stretch. Now think about it, could a product that suits your friend, definitely suit you as well?

4. Education/Knowledge Over Temporary Suggestions and Solutions

Finding the right products isn’t the end game. Using the same thing for a long period (4-6 months) will lead to your hair and scalp developing a resistance to them. And then we’re back to square one, looking for the right products. Instead, if you were to be educated about your individual case and how to address the requirements of your specific scalp and hair type, you would be in a position to pick products or solutions yourself.

If we keep digging, we’re sure to find many more reasons, but let's get to the fix before we get lost in the faults!

Consults with our curly hair experts are aimed at educating you about your hair and scalp type and identifying your specific needs. They take the time out to listen and ask questions about your lifestyle (work, workout regimes, problems, etc.) to understand and explain to you what your ideal and practical hair care routine should be. Booking a wash and styling with the consult will give you a wholesome understanding of how to do each step on your own. Lastly, they will suggest products for you to use and guide you on what to track/note as you use them, so you start to understand your hair better.

Remember, we only suggest products, we don’t push you to buy anything specific. That choice is with you!

The aim is to get you to be self sufficient and not have you rely on anyone, not ads, not bloggers, not even us. But hey, we are always available to sort out any queries you might have, during or post consult. If this read didn’t convince you to book a consultation, below are links to our Google Reviews.
